Weishi accepts instructions across all of Chambers’ main areas, with a particular focus on commercial litigation, arbitration, group actions, and insolvency.

Weishi is currently instructed for the Claimants in the Pan NOx Emissions Group Litigation (one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases for 2025) and for the Claimants in the JLR DPF Group Litigation.

Weishi regularly advises on digital trade finance. Weishi previously worked as the main research assistant on the electronic trade documents project at the Law Commission of England and Wales, and thus she has unique expertise on the Electronic Trade Documents Act 2023.

In addition, Weishi maintains a lively court practice and is frequently instructed as sole counsel to appear in the County Court and High Court in insolvency, consumer finance, and property matters.

Weishi graduated with an MA in Law from St John’s College, University of Cambridge and the BCL from Lincoln College, University of Oxford. Before joining chambers, Weishi completed pupillage at a leading commercial set, wherein she gained specialist knowledge in shipping, commodities, arbitration, and aviation. Weishi also worked as a casework volunteer at Advocate.

Expertise


Commercial Litigation

Weishi is regularly instructed (as sole counsel and as part of a team) on a diverse range of commercial disputes.

Recent work includes:

  • Representing a British multinational company in a £7 million defective product dispute;
  • Representing and advising Claimants in Part 11 jurisdictional challenges brought by foreign defendants; and
  • Assisting in preparation for a £200 million multi-party civil fraud trial.

Arbitration

Weishi has experience in a broad range of arbitration matters (particularly LCIA, SIAC and LMAA) including anti-suit injunctions, enforcement of foreign awards, and applications under sections 18 and 69 of the Arbitration Act 1996.

Weishi’s recent instructions have included representing an Australian software company in an international commercial arbitration under the SIAC Rules totalling US$20 million (unled).

Group Actions

Weishi has been instructed on and assisted members of chambers in several group actions, including mass tort claims and equal pay litigation.

Weishi is currently instructed for the Claimants in the Pan NOx Emissions Group Litigation and for the Claimants in the JLR DPF Group Litigation.

Insolvency

Weishi is regularly instructed in the Insolvency and Companies Court. She has experience in claims under the Insolvency Act 1986, freezing orders, directors’ duties, and unfair prejudice petitions. Her recent instructions include appearing in the High Court in a half-day hearing of a disputed winding up petition.

Shipping & Trade Finance

Weishi has considerable experience in and welcomes instructions on shipping, commodities, and trade finance.

Weishi regularly advises on the Electronic Trade Documents Act 2023, having worked on electronic trade documents project as the main research assistant at the Law Commission.

Weishi has a particular interest in the legal regulation of cryptoassets and in the use of digital technologies in trade finance.

Consumer

Weishi is regularly instructed as sole counsel on a broad range of consumer finance disputes, including PPI commissions, solar panel litigation, and secret commission claims. Weishi has advised on several consumer claims in both unitary actions and group actions.

Property

Weishi has been instructed on a broad range of property law disputes as sole counsel, including landlord and tenant disputes, mortgage possessions, disrepair, trespass, nuisance, and boundary disputes.

Employment

Weishi welcomes instructions on employment matters. Recent highlights include being instructed by a large UK retailer in a mass equal pay litigation, and acting in a 4-day unfair dismissal trial in the Employment Tribunal.
