Julie studied English Literature and History at Trinity College Dublin, where she graduated with first class honours and received several college prizes. As an undergraduate, she was awarded a Silver Medal for Oratory by the College Historical Society debating union. She was selected for the Washington Ireland Programme, a cross-border initiative for leadership and service, and interned in policy research at the AU Sine Institute for Policy and Politics. Julie then read for an MPhil in Politics and International Studies at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, during which she completed a summer school in International Humanitarian Law at the University of Leiden.
Julie converted to law at City University as both a David Karmel and Bedingfield Scholar of Gray’s Inn. Her essay on arbitration and climate change was published in the Gray’s Inn Student Law Journal.
Before coming to Henderson Chambers, Julie completed pupillage at a leading commercial set where she received specialist training in professional negligence, insurance and trade mark disputes. As a pupil, she assisted in the Supreme Court appeal in Iconix v Dream Pairs [2025] UKSC 25. She also drafted pleadings, advices, skeletons and correspondence concerning a wide range of professional negligence matters, injunctive relief, insurance policy coverage and breach of contract.
Julie has appeared unled in the County Court and is happy to accept instructions across chambers’ practice areas.
