Arnold Ayoo appointed by the Competition & Markets Authority as Standing Counsel

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has announced that Arnold Ayoo has been appointed to its panel of Standing Counsel, effective as of 1 March 2025. The appointment has been made with the approval of the Attorney General and following an open competition.

The CMA, the UK’s primary competition and consumer authority, is an independent non-ministerial government department with responsibility for carrying out investigations into market practices and enforcing competition and consumer law. The CMA’s responsibilities have increased by the passing of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, which establishes a new administrative enforcement model of consumer protection. The panel of counsel is intended to provide the CMA with a strong team of advocates and external legal advisers.

Arnold will advise the CMA and represent it in the Courts, with a focus on consumer protection and director disqualification.

Our members and our staff warmly congratulate Arnold on his appointment.
