Henderson Chambers is delighted to announce that Vishnu Patel will join Chambers as a tenant in September 2024 on successful completion of his pupillage.
Vishnu graduated with an MA in Classics from Queens’ College, University of Cambridge. Whilst undertaking the GDL his paper on vicarious liability was shortlisted for the Lincoln’s Inn law prize and published in the Lincoln’s Inn Student Law Journal.
Prior to joining Chambers, Vishnu was a Harold Fox scholar of Middle Temple, for which he spent 10 months working at Stockwoods Barristers LLP, in Toronto, Canada. Vishnu then undertook a 6-month placement at a leading litigation firm, where he worked on group action litigation matters, developing his expertise in this core practice area of Chambers.
During pupillage Vishnu assisted members of chambers by helping to draft advices, pleadings and producing research notes in matters including the Emissions Litigation, the Post Office Inquiry, the Next Equal Pay Litigation, and a number of other commercial/ civil fraud claims. He also acted in several cases in his own right across a number of County Courts and drafted pleadings in a claim for debt/damages arising from an alleged breach of oral agreement. In addition to this he co-authored an article with Thomas Evans on the potential issues arising out of the proposed Payment Services (Amendment) Regulations 2024, which was published in the Journal of International Banking and Financial Law (July 2024).
