Professor Sir Alan Dashwood QC & Adam Heppinstall represent the UK in one of the last pre-Brexit references (from the UKSC) to the CJEU

Professor Sir Alan Dashwood QC and Adam Heppinstall represent the UK in R (on the application of Association of Independent Meat Suppliers and another) -v- Food Standards Agency –  one of the last pre-Brexit references (from the UK Supreme Court) to the CJEU, details of the case can be found here. Advocate General Tanchev delivered his Opinion in the case on 11 February 2020, found here. Amongst other things, the Opinion discusses Article 47 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights (the right to an effective remedy) and how the English remedy of judicial review might meet the requirements of that article.

The case will now be considered by the CJEU, before returning to the Supreme Court.  Sir Alan, Adam and Jonathan Lewis (who also appeared for the FSA in the Supreme Court in this case) are available to advise and provide representation in all cases involving Retained EU law, new domestic replacement/amending legislation and related public law and regulatory matters.
