Patrick Green QC wins Barrister of the Year 2020, in The Lawyer Awards

Henderson Chambers are delighted and proud to announce that Patrick Green QC has won The Lawyer’s coveted  Barrister of the Year Award for 2020.

Following a virtual awards ceremony hosted by Dara O’Briain on Tuesday 3rd November, “Patrick Green QC of Henderson Chambers won Barrister of the Year, after securing victory for 550 Sub-postmasters in the Post Office Group Litigation. “The sheer size of the matter and the novel arguments put forward” made the case stand out in the eyes of the judges.”

Patrick was shortlisted not only for his outstanding victory for 550 Sub-postmasters in their widely-reported fight for justice in the Post Office Group Litigation, but also his success in obtaining two landmark victories in the Supreme Court. The first was obtaining an award of £2 million for Professor Ian Shanks by way of employee patent compensation, following a 13-year legal battle against Unilever.  The second was winning the widely-reported Micula v. Romania case, in which the Supreme Court overturned a stay on enforcing an ICSID arbitration award against Romania.
