The Supreme Court, sitting in Cardiff, has today given a judgment referring the case of R (on the application of AIMS and another) v Food Standards Agency to the Court of Justice of the European Union.  The case concerns the question of whether there is, in EU law, a right of challenge or appeal against the decision of an Official Veterinarian (OV) that slaughtered meat is unfit for human consumption.  You can read more about the case here and the Supreme Court’s judgment and summary is here.

Professor Sir Alan Dashwood QC, Adam Heppinstall and Jonathan Lewis represented the Food Standards Agency.
