Jonathan Worboys speaking on PILPG panels on “Documenting Atrocity Crimes Committed Against the Rohingya and Options for Justice and Accountability”
Henderson Chambers is pleased to announce that Jonathan Worboys will be speaking on three panels in London, Amsterdam and Geneva in February on “Documenting Atrocity Crimes Committed Against the Rohingya and Options for Justice and Accountability”.
The events follow on from Jonathan’s work with Public International Law & Policy Group in 2018 on a US State Department requested documentation mission to investigate international crimes committed against the Rohingya in Myanmar.
The purpose of the investigation mission was to provide an accurate account of the patterns of abuse and atrocity crimes perpetrated against the Rohingya in Myanmar’s Rakhine State, and to help inform US government policy decisions relating to accountability in Myanmar. In total, the investigation conducted 1,024 interviews with Rohingya refugees, and produced more than 15,000 pages of documentation.
Further details of the events, including booking details, can be found here.
The event in London will take place on 18 February, the Netherlands on 21 February, and in Geneva on 26 February.
