British Cycling, represented by Prashant Popat QC, and the Event Organiser, represented by Oliver Campbell QC, instructed by Kennedys Solicitors, were both found not guilty by a jury on 4 July 2018 following a 5 week trial in Mold Crown Court. Both faced health and safety charges following a fatal accident at a downhill mountain biking event in Llangollen in North Wales. The spectator was killed when struck by a bicycle after a rider fell going over some jumps.
