2017 Columbia Arbitration Day

Henderson Chambers is delighted to announce a partnership with The 2017 Columbia Arbitration Day taking place on Friday 3 March 2017 at Columbia Law School in New York City.

Henderson Chambers’ Paris Aboro is currently undertaking an LLM in International Law at Columbia and is one of the co-organising Chairs. Should this event be of interested to you and / or colleagues more information is available on the CAD website (which will be further updated in the coming weeks), and practitioners can now register for tickets here.

Each year the Columbia International Arbitration Association (CIAA) hosts the Columbia Arbitration Day (CAD); a leading, CLE-accredited, and student-run conference, focused upon international arbitration. CAD brings together academics, practitioners, and students from all over the world for an annual discussion of many of the key contemporary issues faced by the international arbitration community. The theme of this year’s CAD event is “Striking a Balance: Confronting Tensions in International Arbitration”. As in previous years, this year’s conference will involve four panel talks, one of which will be focused upon the ethical obligations faced by arbitrators and practitioners alike.

Members of Henderson Chambers have extensive experience in International Arbitrations and routinely act in significant disputes using institutions including the ICC, LCIA, SCC, ICSID. Most recent high profile contested enforcement of the ICSID award in Micula v Romania , and in the much publicised Secretary of State v Raytheon case.
