The search for redemption: surveyors’ liability for refinance loans

On 1 July 2016, the Court of Appeal gave a landmark judgment on the scope of surveyors’ liability in Tiuta International Ltd v De Villiers Surveyors Ltd  EWCA Civ 661. The effect of that judgment was to broaden the potential scope of such liability enormously.
In this article Rachel Tandy examines how the court arrived at that decision, and its wider implications.
