Adam Heppinstall acted for the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport in an attempt by a BBC journalist to obtain privileged legal advice relating to the BBC licence fee settlement of October 2010. The First Tier Tribunal ruled that the privileged advice would not be made public under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
