Technology and Construction
Henderson Chambers is widely recognised as one of the leading sets in IT and construction law. Chambers UK refers to us as a “versatile set” which “handles IT as just one of its many focuses of expertise” and Legal 500 states we are “noted for acting for local authorities on IT disputes”.
Our Technology and Construction Group provides a complete service for the IT industry, both customers and suppliers, from the sourcing and procurement of IT systems through to the resolution of contractual and other disputes by litigation or ADR.
Members of the Group have been leaders in IT law since it first developed, and Chambers handled the seminal case of St Albans DC v ICL – the source of basic computer contract law.
We have particular experience of large-scale systems contracts in both the private and the public sector, and we lay great stress on problem resolution, enabling clients to get failing contracts back on track without litigation.
In the construction and engineering field, the Group has substantial experience in construction and engineering disputes; related professional negligence; claims against local and other public authorities; and insurance and fire claims.
