Mini-Pupillage
Overview
A mini-pupillage at Henderson Chambers is not a pre-requisite for pupillage. Indeed, the demand for mini-pupillages is so great that we are able to accommodate only a small proportion of applicants. We do, however, encourage applications from those wishing to apply to Henderson Chambers for a 12 month pupillage. Places are restricted to those who are serious candidates for pupillage in the next recruitment year though mini-pupillages are not assessed.
The typical mini-pupillage
Mini-pupils usually spend between three and five days in Chambers attached to one junior barrister. They will accompany that barrister to court, but will also have the opportunity to see the work of other barristers. Mini-pupils will also be offered the chance to tackle a set of papers, although there is no formal assessment procedure.
