About us
Henderson Chambers is one of the leading sets of barristers’ chambers in the country.
Led by Head of Chambers Charles Gibson QC, we are based at 2 Harcourt Buildings, in the Temple, in the heart of legal London, and are home to 44 barristers, including 7 Queen's Counsel.
According to Chambers UK, we are “large enough to offer a versatile and wide-ranging service, but not so large as to be impersonal”.
Since our foundation in 1954, we have developed a solid reputation for excellence in both advocacy and advisory work. This reputation is reflected in our recognition by Chambers UK and Legal 500 as leaders in all the main areas of our practice.
Our clients say that we are “excellent in delivering clear, concise advice” (Legal 500).
We are proud of the quality of the service that we provide. We strive to be approachable, user friendly and enthusiastic team-players.
We are particularly commended for the quality of our client service. Chambers and Partners 2012 lists us in their Client Service at the Bar section saying '' Henderson Chambers' client care and management are second to none.'' 'The service is described as ''brilliant'', ''first-class'', ''receptive'' and ''by far the best.''
Our clients are broad ranging and include solicitors in private practice, in-house lawyers and direct access clients. Our work spans many different market sectors.
The achievements of many of our former members have been recognised by judicial appointment - including Lord Justice Gage, Mr Justice Davies, Mr Justice Owen and many circuit judges. Many of our current members serve in the part-time judiciary including in the Employment Tribunals, medical disciplinary bodies and in the Land Registry.
We regularly work with lawyers in other jurisdictions and some of our door tenants practice in law firms overseas:-
- Clive Stanbrook OBE QC & Phillip Bentley QC at McDermott Will & Emery/Stanbrook LLP in Brussels
- Conrad Griffiths QC at Misick & Stanbrook in the Turks & Caicos Islands
- Jeremey Scudamore at Scudamore Abagados in Madrid.
